What is Ecstatic Dance? Ecstatic Dance is a non-verbal, heart-opening journey into an altered state of consciousness -- a place beyond thought, where inhibitions melt away. Here, we connect intimately with ourselves and each other, surrendering to the force that moves us. Powerful music from a wide spectrum of genres guides us gently into movement, building the energy beyond our perceived physical and mental limits. An exciting and sometimes challenging place to be; only from here can we slip into divine states of grace, stillness and peace. Ecstatic Dance, as hosted by Rolf + Karina, is a freeform movement meditation practice, with minimal instruction. This is a celebration of freedom, love and connectedness. Rolf + Karina have facilitated Ecstatic Dances throughout California, in Dharmasala (India), Byron Bay (Australia), on the Big Island (Hawaii), and in Saskatoon (Canada), as well as at the Burning Man Festival (USA). In Spring, 2009, R+K created a hugely successful and ongoing Ecstatic Dance community in Ubud, Bali.
